Auto World Rumored to have Canceled Trans Am Cars

The word buzzing around the WWW this week is that Auto World / Round 2 has canceled (or indefinitely shelved) the 1/32 RTR Trans Am Challenger, ‘Cuda AAR and Firebird Trans Am that were originally planned to be released in the 4th Quarter of 2008.

Prototype of Auto World Challenger T/A

These cars were shown in early prototype form in the Auto World / Round 2 booth at the 2007 iHobby Expo held in Rosemont, IL. To my eye they looked nearly ready for production with the exception of the lack of graphics on the bodies.

OK Gentlemen- here’s your mission... if you want these T/A cars, before the end of August, let’s all tell our local hobby dealers that we want these cars in their stock as soon as they are produced. If you buy online, make sure you “comment” to your online retailer that you want these T/A cars and have cash burning a hole in your pocket.

I feel that if enough people do this within the next few weeks- I can’t help but think that it will be noticed.

To express your support for the Auto World 1/32 Trans Am Cars and commit to purchasing them when they are produced.

Hopefully we can make enough of an impact so that hobby dealers will stop at the Auto World booth at the 2008 iHobby show and ask Tony why these cars are being delayed.

It’s one of the rare times where if we all do our part, we have a good chance to change things for the better.
